San Fran RB Jerick McKinnon (knee) is out and, sad to say, not coming back, which will hamstring the 49ers’ offense all season. His absence, combined with Detroit’s shaky attack last Sunday against the Jets, cries out for an Under. Niners QB Jimmy Garoppolo might be the real deal, but his effectiveness down the stretch of the 2017 season raised expectations excessively. The absence of WR Marquise Goodwin (quad) thins out the receiving corps. Most of the Lions’ ailing players are on offense.

The Lions' horrendous showing saw this move way off the lookahead line of SF -3. I don't have too much faith in the 49ers defense, and I think the Lions have the passing-game weapons to win consistently. Jimmy Garoppolo could also light up the scoreboard, but the 49ers don't have a great home-field advantage, so I love the line value we're getting between these teams, which aren't far apart in talent.
