Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Adam's Analysis:

There is so much talent on Arizona that it makes me wonder how it is under a field goal favorite at home against a Washington team that went 2-6 on the road last season. Washington brings in a new quarterback in Alex Smith and does not have a good enough run game to keep up with Arizona, who should be able to grind with David Johnson and open up the offense with Sam Bradford and Larry Fitzgerald. Let’s not forget that the Cardinals do have some legitimate players on defense, too. I’ll go with the chalk here, even if I didn't get the best line.

R.J.'s Analysis:

The Cardinals are considered one of the worst teams in the league, but I'm not sure why. Quarterback play should be better, especially while Sam Bradford is healthy. David Johnson is back to 100 percent. The defense still has plenty of talent, led by Chandler Jones and Patrick Peterson. And even if Washington jumps out ahead, they don't have the running game to salt this one away. Cardinals win this one at home.
