QB Jimmy Garoppolo is about to learn the hard way that starting for the 49ers is not the same as for his previous employer, the Patriots. He went 2-0 as a placeholder for Tom Brady last season. Now the fourth-year pro makes his debut for offensively deprived San Francisco. Chicago ranks 12th in yards allowed, which means the Niners could have found a more favorable entry point for the new guy.

The Bears' offense has taken two steps forward, two steps backwards since putting rookie Mitch Trubisky into the lineup. The Niners will be starting a new QB in Jimmy Garoppolo. The element of the unknown, in my opinion, combined with Garoppolo's talent gives San Fran a legit shot to win outright.
