This is the second game of back-to-back sets for both the Trail Blazers and the Jazz. Scoot Henderson (rest), Shaedon Sharpe (calf) and Robert Williams III (rest) could all sit out for Portland. Vit Krejci has already scored at least 10 points in three of his last four games, despite not playing more than 26 minutes in any of them. The potential for additional minutes and shot attempts against a Jazz team that has the worst defensive rating in the league makes this over appealing. When Krejci faced them as a member of the Hawks earlier in the season, he scored 20 points over 32 minutes.
Playing an Under on Utah generally isn't smart as it is by far the worst defensive team in the league. But the Blazers may have some tired legs in the second of a B2B (tired legs, jumpers are short; this is also at altitude) and are probably without Shaedon Sharpe (21.4 PPG) again. They might sit some other guys in the last game pre-break. Utah will be tanking so hard in this one to avoid a season-high three-game winning streak -- I will touch on this in the newsletter. I am almost positive that Lauri Markkanen sits the second of a B2B and probably several others. This certainly could turn into a defenseless scrimmage with 260 points, but I'll take a half-unit shot.
