FanDuel. Jaylen Brown has cleared this line in 13 of the last 15 games, and is averaging 29.5 points per game on the season. He (weirdly) aired his grievances when he wasn’t selected Eastern Conference player of the month, and my bet is he comes out super aggressive tonight. It’s a superstar-laden matchup against the Clippers and Kawhi Leonard, who has been similarly stellar of late. This reads as a Jaylen takeover game, and I’d bet this to over 28.5.
The Clippers have won and covered six straight as they welcome the similarly hot Celtics. But while Boston is playing well, LA is on another level right now. Ivica Zubac is set to return, giving the Clippers a lift inside. With Boston playing its fifth road game in eight days, I bet on the Clippers and their elite defense to hold serve.
With still 49 games left on the schedule, the Clips find themselves just one behind Portland in the loss column for the tenth and final West play-in spot after six wins on the trot to move to 12-21. Each win in the current uptick has been by double digits, and Kawhi Leonard is off another monster game (45 points Thursday vs Jazz). Big man Ivica Zubac is also expected back tonight after LA went on its surge following his ankle injury. Meanwhile, tonight concludes a long road trip for the Celtics that began just after Christmas and has seen them win three of four, but note the earlier 3-point escape at home vs. the Clips on November 16 with Kawhi sidelined.
