DraftKings/Caesar’s. Santi Aldama is under this line in 13/16 games he’s played alongside both Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. With both available tonight, I’m looking to fade the Spaniard on his points and assists line. The Sixers limit spot up shooters at the fifth best clip, which should hurt Aldama both from a scoring and assist perspective. And with Jock Landale back in action, Aldama’s minutes ceiling is likely scaled back a bit, as the Grizzlies can rotate their three big men against the smaller Sixers.
Once again, Joel Embiid makes the daily injury report for the Sixers (what's new?) due to ankle/knee soreness. Yet even if Embiid plays, it hasn't much helped Philly lately, which has lost the last three and four of the last five games in which Embiid has been available. (Embiid missed Sunday's heavy 129-104 loss at Oklahoma City.) The current three-game skid is the Sixers' longest of the season, and worth noting that Philly has lost seven of its last nine on the road. Memphis is reeling a bit after losing twice to the Wizards in an eight-night span, but is still 11-6 across its last 17 games, and recently-activated Ja Morant is an improved 52% from the floor the last two games. Play Grizzlies
The spread in tonight’s matchup between Philadelphia and Memphis is leaning towards Joel Embiid playing. Even if he does I still like the Grizzlies, as Philadelphia has lost three straight games for the first time this season. Even with more veteran experience than Memphis, look for the young Grizzlies to rally on their home court. Tail Memphis.
