DraftKings. Back to the well to fade Jaren Jackson Jr. again. He’s averaging 19.3 points plus assists this season - and he’s under in 6/9 without Ja Morant. This should be a tougher spot for him against the Blazers, who limit spot up opportunities at the fourth best rate. Plus, the foul prone Jackson could be in trouble tonight against the Blazers who draw the most fouls per game. Likely drawing the Deni Avdija matchup, Jackson Jr. is a prime candidate for foul trouble.
See, this is all I ask regarding the NBA for me to play the sport right now: A fair line, non-blowout-looking matchup and clear injury status. Portland is in the fourth game of a trip and has dropped four of five overall. And the team is short in the backcourt and now at center due to injury with both Donovan Clingan and Robert Williams ruled out. But it does allow me to type something I always try to if possible: Duop Reath, who is the starting 5. Memphis' good frontcourt of Jaren Jackson and Zach Edey should dominate.
The angle we've been taking with the Grizzlies effectively remains the same...if Ja Morant is out (which is likely the case again this afternoon), we go with Memphis. Morant, dealing with a strained calf (a more bothersome injury than it sounds), has been out since November 15, but the Griz have not coincidentally started to take flight since, winning six of their last eight to revive hopes for this season. Morant, who will be actively shopped at the deadline, has seen his numbers plummet this season anyway...his absence is a plus for Memphis. Meanwhile the Blazers continue on their long road trip and have been laboring, dropping 9 of their last1 2 games. Play Grizzlies
