Dejounte Murray has stepped up in the absence of Trae Young and taken over lead guard duties for a reeling Hawks team that is hanging on for dear life and currently the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference. Murray has seen his usage spike and it's shown up on the stat sheet where he averages a combined 38.3 PRA without Trae Young compared to 31.1 PRA with Young active. While this would seemingly point to backing Murray, this is a tough matchup against a depleted Memphis roster that plays hard and slow. Atlanta is also playing significantly slower and the oddsmakers project a low scoring environment with a tiny 215.5 point total.

I give a ton of credit to Jaren Jackson who is still playing hard despite the Grizzlies having more injuries than any roster in the league this season. JJJ is the only remaining starter or really rotational player still standing for Memphis. The reigning DPOY has been thrust into an unfamiliar role as the teams number 1 scoring option, despite ordinarily operating as the teams third option. This is an abnormally high RA line for Jackson who averages approximately 7.7 Reb + Ast. On paper this looks like a plus matchup, however Atlanta has been playing slower without Trae Young and JJJ has piled up big RA numbers in consecutive games while logging 37+ minutes, which is way above his season average of 32 MPG.
