It's crazy to think that Luka averages a ridiculous combined 52.7 PRA on the season and this is an appropriate number for the Slovenian superstar. However the Mavericks recently acquired two offensive minded players in PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford at the trade deadline. Luka has stayed under this combo line in 3 of 4 games since Washington and Gafford have been on the Mavs, while averaging "just" 51.5 PRA. Dallas is also healthy and sport a fairly deep rotation with plenty of capable scorers and are routinely deploying a nine man rotation featuring no shortage of offensive firepower. Luka is capable of going nuclear on any given night but he doesn't need to with the amount of capable scorers on Dallas.

The seven-game Dallas win streak needs to be put under a microscope, as for the most part the Mavs have either taken advantage of downtrodden sides (Nets, Wizards, Spurs), or depleted ones (Knicks, Sixers). Yes, the romp past the Thunder and the win on Thursday vs. the Suns were positives, though we suspect the seven-game label is a bit deceiving. This will be a stern test as the Pacers have been trading punches with everyone especially sine Pascal Siakam came on board from Toronto before the deadline, and Tyrese Haliburton now firmly back to active duty after scoring 25 vs. the Pistons out of the All-Star break.
