The Cavaliers are finally healthy again with Darius Garland and Evan Mobley back in the fold. They have the second-best defensive rating in the league and have held their opponents to 111 points or fewer in 10 of their last 12 games. They have faced the Wizards twice this season, holding them to fewer than 102 points in both games. Take the under.
This is a tough spot for Kyle Kuzma. The Cavaliers have the second-best defensive rating in the league and are healthy with Darius Garland and Evan Mobley back from injuries. This game has blowout written all over it, so Kuzma might not play much in the fourth quarter. These two teams have met twice previously this season, both of which were lopsided wins for the Cavaliers. Kuzma didn’t play more than 25 minutes in either game and finished with fewer than 22 combined points, rebounds and assists both times. In two games against them last season, he finished with fewer than 17 combined both times. I’ll pay the juice and take this under.
We can do a lot worse in the NBA than simply riding Cleveland until the Cavs cool down. Monday's blowout of Sacto marked a 14th win in the last 15 games (11-4 vs. line in those), with Donovan Mitchell on another heater while scoring 32 pg across the past five, and C Jarrett Allen obviously okay after his injury scare last week vs. Memphis, scoring a combined 45 points with 23 rebounds in the two games since. Meanwhile the Wiz is about to get swept out of a four-game homestand and is off a 140-112 blowout loss vs. the Suns. Play Cavs
Darius Garland has returned to the Cavs lineup after suffering a fractured jaw in mid December. The former 5th overall pick has appeared in four games after rejoining then lineup and has seen his playing time increase in consecutive games culminating in a 26 point victory over the Kings where he logged 28 minutes. Cleveland is the hottest team in the Association having won 14 of their last 15 games. I expect Garland to play upwards of 30+ minutes and Washington is an optimal opponent in that they rank 28th in Defense and 1st in possessions per game.
