The Rays are 8-1 versus the Blue Jays this season. In this series, Tampa Bay has outscored Toronto 23-5. The Jays have mustered 10 runs through six games of this homestand. And their defense has been shaky too. Lay the reasonable price as the Rays end their trip on a high note.
Toronto has lost seven of its last eight games and now fall to 10 games under .500. The Blue Jays have also scored two runs, or less, in each of their last five games. Shane Bieber has been shaky so far this season with a 5.70 ERA and 1.73 WHIP, but off his two best starts of the season. Relief pitcher Casey Legumia will open for Tampa Bay who’s backed by a bullpen that has been improving following the All-Star break. The Rays have the better, more consistent lineup to secure a four-game sweep.
Shane Bieber might finally be looking like himself from the past after he pitched a 1-0 game against the White Sox in his last outing. That's two straight wins by the Blue Jays started by him allowing only two combined runs in those games. But the Blue Jays have lost their last four and seven of their last eight to make them look done for the playoffs this year. Their body language is terrible from all the players, and they’re 10 games under .500 now, with the team talking about being sellers at the trade deadline. They're on the brink of getting swept four games by the Rays. Tampa Bay has won eight of the last nine meetings with Toronto. Rays to win.
