DraftKings. I’m going to reverse course and target and over on a strikeout prop against the Marlins tonight. As strikeouts averse as the fish have been, Bryce Miller has been hotter, and the books continue to undervalue the righty. Miller has at least six punchouts in seven of nine starts, including six straight. His lower arm angle and uptick in velocity has lead to a meteoric rise in his K% (33%, 96th percentile), and his 2.09 xERA and .186 xBA also are both in elite territory. While the Marlins are tough to strikeout, they do allow pitchers to cycle through batters quickly (3.80 pitches per plate appearance, fourth lowest), which should offer opportunity for more volume.

This is a lot of juice for a prop but I'll roll with the streaking Bryce Miller on Thursday. In his last six starts, Miller has struck out at least six batters in each game and is averaging eight Ks per contest. With Seattle needing a win in the worst way to maintain their lead atop the AL West, look for the Mariners' underrated right-hander to keep the red hot Marlins lineup a bit in check.
