A's pitcher Jeffrey Springs had nearly as many HRs allowed in June (12) and walks (13) in his 27 innings of work, and he hasn't earned a positive decision since April 14. He takes on 4-1 Troy Melton, whose box score stats look good, but his 4.55 FIP suggests that the 2.05 ERA is a bit of fool's gold. He's striking out just 6.6 batters per nine innings.
