Going with a strikeout ladder on Cristopher Sanchez in hopes of a bounce back at home. He gets an couple extra days of rest coming off his roughest outing of the season, allowing 12 hits and six runs to the Cubs. Sanchez faced this San Fran lineup earlier in the month and struck out six batters while allowing eleven hits in five innings, so in a game where they likely need him to pitch a bit deeper, I'm taking a shot on the over. If he can be even slightly better on a few batters than what we saw in the previous outing against this lineup, he'll get over this line. 0.5u/0.35u/0.15u for 7,8,9 Ks.

FanDuel. One of the few things going for the Phillies this season is that they have Christopher Sanchez, who remains one of the best starters in baseball. And despite a hiccup in his last outing against the Cubs, he’ll now face the Giants in the first game of a double header. Not only will the Phillies need their ace to pitch deep into this one, with a potential bullpen game on tap for the second leg, but I like the matchup. The Giants did face Sanchez earlier this season, and only K’ed six times. But the lefty forced a 17% whiff rate, gets a slightly more favorable lineup, and is pitching at home. I love this at plus odds.
I played the Phillies with this same pitching matchup on Wednesday but the game got rained out. Now Cristopher Sanchez and Logan Webb will square off in the first game of a double-header. I'll run it back with Philadelphia. Sanchez is coming off his worst outing of the season versus the Cubs where he gave up six runs in 5.1 innings. However, in his five prior starts, Sanchez allowed just five earned runs over 28.1 innings. I expect Sanchez to rebound here and Logan Webb has pitched better at home than on the road. The Phillies go 2-0 under new skipper Don Mattingly.
