This line is lower than you would expect because this game is a win or be eliminated game for the Guardians. If Bibee gets in to trouble, he won't have a long leash, but we still like the value here. This is Bibee's third consecutive start facing the Detroit Tigers, and he allowed 5 and 4 hits in the previous two. The over is 18-2 in his last 20 games including 9-1 in the last 10 games.
Tanner Bibee pitched very well at the end of the season. This will be the 3rd he faces the Tigers in the last 15 days, holding them to two combined runs in his last two outings. Casey Mize starts for Detroit and may have a short lease since he’s allowed two runs, or more, in nine of his last 10 starts. The Guardians will look to stay alive with their hostile home crowd backing them along with the better bullpen.

Cleveland will certainly empty the bullpen in an elimination game if need be, but only 13.5 outs for Tanner Bibee? His final two regular-season starts were nearly identical and both wins vs. Detroit: 6 IP, 1 ER. Bibee has gone at least 4.2 innings in 13 straight outings. Again, I know this is different but still a low number in my mind. If CLE can save the bullpen as much as possible for a potential Game 3, it obviously will. The Tigers aren't exactly crushing the ball lately.
Good news for the Guardians today is that they won't be seeing Tarik Skubal, who won't be on the mound for Detroit after his dominating performance in Game One. For Wednesday's Game 2, Detroit will instead offer Casey Mize, who has modest success down the stretch when posting a 3.49 ERA in September, though the Tigers lost his last three starts. Mize also had problems with the Guardians two weeks ago in Cleveland, surrendering three runs and seven hits in just 5 1/2 IP of a game the Tigers would eventually lose. As Cleveland has won in his last four starts, Tanner Bibee looks ready for the postseason, especially with his 1.30 ERA across those last four starts. Play Guardians on Money Line
