This is a very fishy line but how can you not continue to back the Brewers. We saw the same pitching match six days ago with St. Louis falling short in extras. Sonny Gray pitched well in that game, but the Cardinals have still lost three of his last four starts. The Cardinals offense has struggled in September, hitting .221 while only scoring 50 runs, second-worst in the majors. Jacob Misiorowski allowed four earned in his last outing but is back by an offense hitting .297 against righties on the road over the last two months.

I explain some of the risks on this play in my article under the "analysis" tab here on Sportsline. The Brewers rookie didn't look like himself last time, grabbing three strikeouts through the first two innings, then seeing his velocity dip in the fourth and only striking out one more batter after that 2nd inning. He finished five innings with seven hits and four runs allowed, along with four strikeouts, and the laborious start was likely the reason he left after five. There are potential workload limits here but I also see an angle to take on the strikeouts at a discount vs. where the line was last time. If he can be even just slightly better tonight, things could go really well.
