San Diego's numbers are not great against lefties, and the lefty bats they force into the lineup don't help our case vs. southpaw David Peterson. But, this lineup is not an easy foe and Peterson is now 20+ innings beyond his career high last year. There's still a lot of baseball left for the Mets (and Peterson) and after Clay Holmes and Sean Manaea took care of the entire game yesterday, this New York bullpen is incredibly rested. With how close the Wild Card race is, I wouldn't be surprised to see the bullpen deployed early if Peterson runs into trouble. Even if he pitches well, his last couple starts have been around 90 pitches so he will need to be efficient regardless.
