Riley Greene snapped an 11-game homerless streak with a long ball yesterday. He's hit 30 of his 33 HRs against RHPs and owns a .911 OPS in those matchups. Yankees starter Cam Schlittler hasn't allowed a HR in his last 5 starts, but he failed to make it out of the 2nd inning in his last outing. The Yankees bullpen has also been roughed up by the Tigers in this series. We set Greene's line at +330 to homer.

There's going to be a problem if Cam Schlittler doesn't pitch into the 6th inning tonight, because New York's bullpen has struggled mightily of late. After a disgusting bullpen display last night, Aaron Boone should be pushing the young starter to his limits here. Besides a tough outing against Toronto last time, Schlittler has been stellar for the Yankees in the 2nd half, pitching to a 3.02 ERA in nine starts with 6+ strikeouts in 5/6 starts during August. Detroit sports an OPS under .700 against righties since July, and Schlittler has solid strikeout stuff to get himself out of any trouble he gets into. 1u on over 14.5 outs at -167 on BetRivers and half unit here at +120 on MGM!
The Yankees burned me Tuesday, but I thoroughly enjoyed the nine-run inning they gave up to the Tigers personally. And then Detroit totally rubbing the Yanks' nose into the yellow snow last night again, 11-1. Hilarious! But I'm an intangibles guy. Can't call this a "must win," I suppose, but it's pretty darn close for Aaron Boone's team. Got to get right ahead of the weekend showdown with Boston. It’s only the third time the club has lost consecutive games by 10 or more runs (also Sept. 26-28, 1908, and Aug. 27-28, 1988). Another reason why the Yanks can't blow this: They were originally to face Tarik Skubal but now get Sawyer Gipson-Long (0-2, 5.59 ERA) after an opener.
