Caesar’s. Riding the wave with baseball’s hottest pitcher, Freddy Peralta. The righty has cleared this line in each of his last six starts (including tough strikeout matchups against the Blue Jays and Cubs), while pitching to a 0.28 ERA. He’ll face a Rangers lineup that has six righties - Peralta’s better split, with a 28.9% strikeout rate and a .253 wOBA, and six total hitters with above average strikeout rates against righties.
This is a get-away day for both teams with the Brewers traveling back home and Texas flying to New York. Freddy Peralata has not allowed a run in his last five starts while Merrill Kelly has continued to pitch well after being traded to the Rangers. Each team in their home and road splits have averaged under 7.5 runs throughout this season.
We know of Freddy Peralta's recent stats, which looks more like Don Drysdale circa 1968 (no runs allowed in last five starts and a scoreless innings streak now at 29.) But it's not been that easy, as Peralta requited 92 pitches to just get thru five innings last Thursday vs. the Phils and averaged pitch counts in the mid 90s during the scoreless streak despite not pitching past the sixth inning. The momentum in this series is all with Texas, on the verge of a sweep as it keeps winning (13 of 17) to put pressure on Seattle in the wild card chase, while the Rangers have won the last three starts for Merrill Kelly (1.77 ERA in those efforts).
