B365 @ -115. Nolan McLean has made quite the first impression at the Major League level. Pitching to a 0.89 ERA, the rookie has registered 21 strikeouts in 20.1 innings, with an impressive 28.8% K%. He’ll face the Tigers, who not only have been strikeout a lot at 25% over the last two weeks versus righties, but also not hitting (.640 OPS).

Still some plus odds available in the market for Nolan McLean but they're disappearing fast. He's been over this line in all three of his big league starts so far and the underlying numbers are more than serviceable against both sides of the plate. He should see five or six lefties tonight, and he's leaned on a stellar curveball for his strikeouts against left handed batters, running a near 44% whiff rate on the pitch with 6/11 strikeouts vs. lefties coming on it. This lineup has seen their strikeout rates rise of late, with just two hitters under a 22% K rate over the last month. Starting a ladder here (6,7,8,9).
The Met's best Nolan since Ryan is the 2025 Nolan version named McLean continues to wow 'em, winning his first three starts while posting an 0.90 and 0.69 WHIP along the way. McLean also hasn't walked any opposing batters in his last two games, and the New York offense looks prepared to provide enough support after scoring 10 times in Monday's win. Much less faith in Detroit's young pitcher, Sawyer Gipson-Long, who was rocked in his last two starts back in June, allowing 7 runs (including four homers) across just 11 2/3 IP, a 5.40 ERA, vs. the Rays and Twins.
