This is one of those we somewhat say OK the visiting team probably has the better starting pitcher (Joe Ryan vs. Max Scherzer) ... but not by that much. And otherwise, every single thing points to the Blue Jays, who just dominate at SkyDome -- not called that for years but it still sounds so cool. Only playing if Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was back in the lineup for Toronto. He is.

Caesar’s. After needing a few starts to settle in post-injury, Max Scherzer has put together an impressive stretch. In August, Scherzer has pitched to a stellar 1.80 ERA, and he has cleared this outs line overall in five of six fully stretched out starts. He’ll face the Twins, who’ve limped to a .695 OPS against righties since the trade deadline.

Max Scherzer has been outstanding lately, pitching to a 2.25 ERA in his last five starts and that's 32 innings. The Twins are an awful offensive team now, having hit .217/.294/.374 in August. You can get this at 2.5 in other books, but I think Scherzer brings us home at plus money on 1.5 here.
Joe Ryan on the mound is about all the Twins have to look forward to these days, but we're not even sure that is going to work tonight after Ryan was hammered in his last start by the A's, allowing five runs and seven hits across just 4 IP of a 6-3 loss. The season effectively ended at the trade deadline for Minnesota, as losing the weekend series to the lowly Chisox was another byproduct. Meanwhile, the Blue Jays are chasing the Tigers for the best record in the AL and Max Scherzer looks like Max Scherzer again, spinning a 1.80 ERA in four August starts. Play Blue Jays on the Run Line.
