Pete Crow-Armstrong was caught stealing in the early game but I think he can make things right tonight, so I'll take a small shot here. The Brewers are going with Danny Jansen in the night game and he's thrown out just 9/59 runners stealing 2nd base this year, being targeted by opposing teams the second most of any catcher in MLB. Likely due to his lack of success, teams have run on Jansen frequently and I don't see it stopping now. Will have bets on a few Cubs to steal a bag but PCA (and Matt Shaw) should have a bit of extra motivation after being caught earlier by Contreras.
Lineups aren’t out as game one of the doubleheader is still in progress and some key players on both sides may be out. However, Jameson Taillon makes his first start since his calf injury in late June. Since the All-Star break, Milwaukee is scoring 6.71 runs per game while the Cubs are averaging just 3.64 runs. Brandon Woodruff has been pitching very well on the road this season, 3-0 SU with a 1.50 ERA. Even if the Milwaukee losses game one, they’ve only been swept once this season, in June, and will look to avoid being a game closer of being swept by their division rival.
