Tanner Bibee has really struggled on the road this season, pitching to a 5.59 ERA, and has remained under this outs line in ten of fourteen outings (and in seven of the last eight overall). Pitching to a 6.00 ERA overall since the beginning of July, Bibee has seemingly lost his manager’s confidence the third time through the batting order (.852 OPS allowed). He’ll face the Diamondbacks tonight - Arizona has remained a top offense against righties since the trade deadline (.793 OPS and 120 wRC+). The D-Backs can also trot out five to six lefties tonight, which plays into Bibee’s worse split from both an efficiency and effectiveness standpoint.

Distractions to certain teams compound matters on the field and carry over to losses. For the Arizona Diamondbacks we saw this during the trade deadline where they lost six straight games. The Ketel Marte situation is another distraction and now the Diamondbacks have lost four straight games, with a combination of the bullpen not holding and the bats going cold. Take the Guardians as the Dbacks lose their fifth straight game.
