At this point it just seems like the Milwaukee Brewers can’t lose a game. They lead MLB in wins and have won sixteen out of their last twenty games. With Quinn Priester as starter they have rolled off eleven straight victories. Yet in two out of their last three wins it’s been tighter victories, by one run. The Mets in a desperate spot, close out the series with a win.
There is no way the Mets should be favored in tis matchup, even slightly, on Sunday. Especially given the current trajectories of both sides, New York losing six straight and 10 of 11, Milwaukee winning 8 straight and 11 of 12, part of a much-longer 47-16 uptick. Granted, Sean Manaea might give the Mets their best chance, but they've still lost in four of Manaea's five starts since being activated last month, and he is off of his roughest outing yet against Cleveland on Monday when surrendering five runs and seven hits in just 5 2/3 IP. Meanwhile, all the percolating Brewers have done is win in twelve straight starts made by Quinn Priester, who goes again on Sunday. Play Brewers on Money Line
Will happily take the gift +1 as I'm quite sure the Brewers will close as ML favorites and already are at a few books. Sunday starting pitcher Quinn Priester hasn't personally lost since May 13 and the Brewers have taken his past 12 overall. The Mets are completely broken at the moment at 1-10 in their past 11. Manager Carlos Mendoza's seat could be getting warm. Hitting coach Eric Chavez might be fired Sunday evening if the team struggles again offensively and is swept.
