Playing a ladder on Sean Manaea tonight against the Guardians, 0.5u/0.35u/0.15u at 6,7,8 K's. With five or more strikeouts in three of four starts so far, and 80+ pitches in back to back appearances, I'm targeting him get deeper into the game tonight after hitting five innings in each of the last two. The Guardians are running out four righties with a strikeout rate from 28-40% vs. lefties, and the southpaw Manaea has been great against righties with 19 strikeouts in 14 innings thus far. He's got a near 14% swinging strike rate against righties and should have a few extra opportunities after lobbying for 1 more inning last time, (to no avail) saying he felt great and wanted to stay in.

Fanatics at +110. After missing this line in his last two starts (one of which was a tough matchup against the Padres), I’m buying low on Sean Manaea on his strikeout line tonight. I’m a believer in the lefty’s adjusted arm slot helping to generate more strikeouts, which we’ve still seen this season (22 punch outs in 17.1 innings). And making his fifth start, we should be getting Manaea on a full workload (86 and 82 pitches in his last two outings). The Guardians have been roughly league average at a 23.7% K% against lefties this season, but have also struggled offensively (.646 OPS).
