Gore has failed to clear this line in seven of his last eight starts. In that span, his called plus swinging strike rate has plummeted to 24.4% (had been 28.9% previously), putting him in the 19th percentile of qualifiers over that date range. He’ll now face the Astros, who own the tenth lowest strikeout rate against lefties this season, and the sixth lowest overall called plus swinging strike rate.
