Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Larry's Analysis:

The Giants have lost Justin Verlander's last six starts, all by at least two runs. At age 42, his fastball is averaging 94 mph and he is 0-3 with a 5.67 ERA on the road. Spencer Strider is regaining his dominant form, with 19 strikeouts over his last two starts (12.2 innings). He owns a 2.81 ERA over his last four starts. Back the Braves on the run line.

Matt's Analysis:

Atlanta didn't cooperate on Tuesday whatsoever but at least reset the bullpen in a blowout loss. Wednesday starter Spencer Strider looks completely healthy these days with a 2.55 ERA and 58 strikeouts over 42.2 innings in his past seven starts. It's the end of a six-game trip for the Giants, who are 1-4 on it. Justin Verlander should have retired last year as he's 0-8 with a 4.99 ERA. That's sad, but I don't feel sorry for JV as he has had an amazing career. Don't blame him returning one more year at $15 mil. Certainly would be fine with -1 here.
