The six-game losing streak by the Tigers is getting a little bit old for the team with the best record in the American League. The Cubs have passed the Tigers for the MLB-best record during their slide, and their first two games after the All-Star break stayed under the total as the Tiger bats have gone quiet. Just one run scored between the two games, and the Rangers have now won four straight over the Tigers. Not a lot of runs are likely tonight with Tarik Skubal pitching. The Rangers have gone under 60 times this year, and I like them to go under tonight.

Tarik Skubal racked up 12 strikeouts earlier this year against the Rangers and this is a team that has struggled to produce against left handed pitchers. I would not be surprised to see Texas swinging earlier and more often tonight as to avoid that high strikeout total against the ace again. At this price, I'm finding value in taking a shot that Skubal can work deeper into the game, when his team needs him to be a stopper and pickup at least one win from this series before going to Pittsburgh. Skubal hasn't looked exactly like himself lately, but I'm betting on a bounce back here against the team with MLB's 6th worst OPS against lefties since June 1st.
