What I like to do when possible is play an outlier number. Among the five books we currently can use, this is the only 4.5 on the board and two have 3.5. I probably still wouldn't have done it but a key hitter -- Corbin Carroll and Willson Contreras -- is out on either side. Snakes pitcher Merrill Kelly has a 1.89 ERA during the day, and the Cards' Matthew Liberatore has a 1.80 ERA at home. OK, I'm done for today most likely. Pool time as it's like 100 degrees down here. And it's not even June yet. Gonna be a tough summer. Anyone got a (gator-free) lake house somewhere temperate they want to invite me? I'll bring wine! Guess the missus too.
