Simply going with Detroit when Tarik Skubal is never a bad idea, and there are a couple of added bonuses on Wednesday. First, the Tigers own the AL's best mark overall (28-15) and at home (16-5), and are looking to bring out the broom and sweep out the Bosox after a dramatic 11th-inning win last night. As for Skubal, his ERA is 1.48 since the start of April, and Detroit has won in his last three starts. Sox counterpart Hunter Dobbins is off of six shutout innings vs. the Royals, but his previous efforts were not especially noteworthy, and the Bosox are in neutral, just 5-8 across their last 13 games. Play Tigers on Run Line.

I started a strikeout ladder here on Tarik Skubal for one unit total, at 8,9,10 strikeouts. Skubal has been incredible this season and the Red Sox don't scream "great matchup" but when you dive deeper into their left handed competition thus far, I'm not sold on the lack of strikeouts. The reigning AL Cy Young comes off a 12 strikeout performance, and has at least eight in three of his last four. His gaudy swinging strike rate is nearing 19% and the rest of his underlying metrics are stellar as well. There was a plethora of bullpen used by Detroit yesterday, and I expect Skubal to work deep in the game once again. Priced under -115 I'd play the ladder!

We've been backing Tarik Skubal on the mound before most people knew who he was (and we have a bunch of 2020 Bowman chrome numbered auto rookies to back it up). The Red Sox are in another hitting spiral and their pen stinks and this is a big park for them. The Tigers' no-name lineup continues to get results. Detroit is 13- 7 on the RL at home. Boston is 5-7 on the RL in their last 12.
