Arizona might have some bullpen issues after using a ton of guys in Wednesday's win and with closer Justin Martinez ailing -- he not long ago replaced former closer AJ Puk, who is on the IL. The Mets look to avoid losing back-to-back games for only the second time this season and first at home. Brandon Nimmo is in the lineup after dealing with an illness in the past couple of days. Kodai Senga hasn't given up an earned run in two home starts in 2025 and just four ER in five starts all year.

Juan Soto doesn't have great numbers vs Zac Gallen, with 1 HR, a .182 avg and .614 OPS in 22 career ABs ... But this isn't that version of Gallen. He's been getting pummeled by lefties. They are batting over .300 against him with a .395 OBP (Ted Williams, anyone?) and .545 SLG. Everyone around Soto is hitting pretty well so can't get cute with him and this cat is gonna break out in a big way soon enough. We are getting good value on a proven power producer because of his early woes with the Metropolitans.
Off of a loss looks to be the time to back the Mets this season. they're 8-1 off a defeat, and New York should be in a proper frame of mind this afternoon after last night's 4-3 setback vs. the D-backs. Pitching dynamics suggests the quick revenge should work, especially as Arizona's Zac Gallen is struggling at 1-4 with a 5.57 ERA, even worse the last two starts (7.36 ERA) in losses to the Cubs and Braves. As for the Mets, Kodai Senga has been almost untouchable, surrendering just 4 ER across 28 2/3 IP, and very good lately avoiding the long ball (only one surrendered, in his first start on April Fool's Day vs. the Marlins). Play Mets on Run Line
Been fading Zac Gallen and Aaron Nola - neither one is anywhere close to their old Cy Young form. Bad match-up for Gallen here. Kodai Senga has been awesome and the Mets have a 2.60 ERA at home. Pretty ridiculous.
