Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Micah's Analysis:

The Twins have won nine straight over the White Sox including seven straight this season. They're 13 games above .500 and seven of them have come at the hands of the White Sox. The last two weeks the White Sox have produced two of the hottest hitters in baseball in Jose Miranda and Byron Buxton. Bailey Ober has won four of his last five starts and he's been very stingy with the runs allowing two runs in his last two starts. Erick Fedde has lost two of his last three starts. Twins win.

Matt's Analysis:

Really can't be argued that the White Sox have the superior starting pitcher in the opener of a doubleheader in likely soon-to-be traded Erick Fedde, who is 4-1 with a 1.64 ERA at home. Minnesota's Bailey Ober has a 4.69 road ERA. A few Twins regulars are out for Game 1 (and of course Royce Lewis is back on the IL). Frankly, the Pale Hose are due a win in this series trailing 8-0 this year. But I don't need a win.
