Choosing to back the Cubs today as I believe this pitching matchup favors Chicago with Kyle Hendricks on the mound who will be opposing by Colin Rea. The Cubs were just swept by Atlanta and find themselves a .5 game behind the 3rd and final wildcard spot in the NL. The Brewers have been playing well but I ultimately think Chicago has more to play for and takes care of business.

Chicago is a half game back of the final Wild Card spot in the NL. Kyle Hendricks owns a 3.03 road ERA and has allowed one earned run in 12 innings against the Brewers this season. Milwaukee’s Colin Rea has been pitching well of late but still owns a 5.04 home ERA and has yet to face the Cubs this season. Chicago is the more desperate team and Milwaukee has scored four runs, or less, in four of their last five games.
