San Diego's loss at home to St. Louis on Saturday is what will keep the Padres out of the playoffs (and was crushing $$). They had that game and blew it, and while the Padres bounced back yesterday that's likely to be the killer. Still, NL Cy Young favorite Blake Snell is on the mound here and he has been amazing of late and this year vs. the Giants. Probably his final start of 2023 and with the Padres (free agent to be) unless Sunday's game somehow means something.

The Giants and Padres are each five games out of the final wild card with six games to go. The end is near for both but the Padres don’t want the season to end. They’ve won nine of their last 10 games, they’re having fun, and tonight they have their Cy Young candidate on display. The Padres have won 10 of Blake Snell’s last 11 starts with all 10 wins won by two runs or more, eight of them by three runs or more. The Giants have lost six of Logan Webb’s last seven starts. Padres to win.
