The Rays are without stellar young shortstop Wander Franco for some off-field reasons (not even with team) and sitting a lot of other good hitters (both Lowes, Luke Raley) simply because SF is expected to use a lefty in Sean Manaea as its bulk pitcher. Manaea doesn't have good numbers overall but has a 0.77 ERA (11.2 IP) and a 0.51 WHIP in his past five outings. Yeah, Tampa Bay's Tyler Glasnow can be dominant, but he hasn't pitched since the end of July due to back spasms and those can always return at any time to disrupt your life/work like Ron Swanson's ex Tammy on my new favorite network comedy (late to party).
