Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Matt's Analysis:

How weird/off has this week been? My Cubs have won 7 straight and I haven't backed them once. And mad they have because I want them to sell and beef up the system and not try for an unlikely playoff spot. Just a really weird past 7 days overall. Karma has had its fun with us. I slept on a garlic wreath last night so here's hoping the spell is lifted. Hope so as I smell like death. It's hard to trust TOR's Alek Manoah, but he has been somewhat better since his return. LA's Reid Detmers has an ERA near 7.00 this month. And I think Shohei Ohtani sits -- he has left B2B games with cramps. Gotta keep him fresh.

Stephen's Analysis:

I realize that Alek Manoah is starting for the Blue Jays, but Toronto has actually won two of his last three starts since he returned from his short stint away from the team. On the other hand, the Angels have lost two of the last three games started by Reid Detmers. My model says the Blue Jays win 60% of the time, so you're getting good value at this price.
