Cubs lefty Drew Smyly has been lit up for five-plus earned runs four times this season. Following the first three such debacles, Smyly bounced back strong, allowing a total of three earned runs over 15.2 innings. This is another bounceback spot after the Phils rocked Smyly for seven earned runs last Wednesday. Now Smyly, who sports a 2.74 road ERA, faces a Brewers lineup that ranks last in OPS versus southpaws (.644). Julio Teheran's stirring comeback hit a speed bump last time out, as the Mets got him for four homers and seven earned runs in 5.2 innings. His fastball averages below 90 mph. Back Chicago in the opener despite the quick turnaround from Sunday evening's loss.
