I like this spot for the Cubs at home against a short-handed Orioles team missing two of their best bats in their lineup. I also like the Cubs chances of having success against Orioles starter Cole Irvin who possesses a 7.85 ERA this season. Chicago has performed well against opposing southpaws and have the 9th highest OPS against lefties. Kyle Hendricks will be on the bump for Chicago and he has given up just 8 ER in 23.1 IP this season to go along with a 1.07 WHIP.
The Orioles have made me more money than any team this season but they are missing two big bats on the IL in Cedric Mullins and Ryan Mountcastle, and the weakest link -- at least so far -- of their rotation starts today in Cole Irvin (1-2, 7.85). The Cubbies, meanwhile, just scored 28 runs in a three-game sweep of Pittsburgh. They didn't need to use any key relievers in Thursday's win, either. Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks historically pitches much better at Wrigley. I think Chicago should be a very slight favorite so we get a gift of +1.5.
