Understanding Public and Money
I will probably need a reason to NOT play teams under -160 against Oakland this season regardless of where it is or who is pitching. That's how bad the A's figure to be. It's new Angels lefty Tyler Anderson on the mound. Last season, with the Dodgers, Anderson was selected to the All-Star team and finished 15-5 with a 2.57 ERA. His career ERA is way better during the day. Anderson is countered by Oakland's Ken "What would you for a Klondike bar" Waldichuk. This spring, he was 0-4 with a 10.54 ERA and 1.057 OPS in five games, including four starts. Opponents hit .328 and he walked 12 in 13.2 innings.
Oakland LHP Ken Waldichuk beat Shohei Ohtani and Jacob deGrom last season, but the Athletics lost each of his other five starts. Waldichuk had four outings during spring training, and they didn’t go well as he took the loss in every one. He posted a 10.54 ERA and allowed 16 runs in 13 2/3 innings while opponents batted .328 against him. I’m on the Angels behind LHP Tyler Anderson.
