Astros pitcher Justin Verlander hasn’t had much success in the World Series over his career and continued the trend in a 6-5 Game 1 loss in which he allowed five runs in five innings. The Phillies got no-hit Wednesday night, but 30 days ago Verlander went five no-hit innings against the Phillies in a 10-0 win. This is simply value: I'd rather get the +1.5 on the Phillies -130 at home than spend -160 on the Astros ML on the road. I'm pretty sure Philadelphia won't be no-hit again. While Justin Verlander was spectacular in the regular season, he has been quite shaky in two of three playoff starts -- including Game 1 of this series. Verlander is 0-6 with a 6.07 ERA in eight career World Series starts. That’s the worst ERA of any pitcher with at least 30 innings in the Fall Classic. The Phillies won't leave Noah Syndergaard in there very long.
