Dylan Cease is 6-1 with a 0.84 ERA in his last seven starts and he has allowed just four earned runs in the last two months. Glen Otto has been struggling lately going 0-4 with a 5.76 ERA in July. The Rangers also have used all their top bullpen arms a couple nights in a row and could have a few unavailable while the White Sox have their whole bullpen available. The White Sox played a dud yesterday but they have actually been very good lately while the Rangers haven’t.

It's just so tough to be a Chicago sports fan. Our owners are the worst for one. And other than MJ's Bulls and the 1985 Bears, the teams don't take advantage of great opportunities presented. Naturally, the White Sox lost on Thursday when everything was in their favor. The SportsLine Curse is legit! At least the Sox didn't use a single reliever and Texas used a few key ones. I'm gonna play this now because I think the number is a bit low, and Dylan Cease has been the best pitcher in baseball since early June. In fact, he is the only AL pitcher in modern baseball history with consecutive months of 40+ strikeouts and a sub-1.00 ERA. He was the AL Pitcher of the Month in June and July yet wasn't an All-Star. The Rangers go with Glenn Otto, he of the 5.50 ERA overall and 7.39 at home.

My projections love the Rangers as a mid-range home underdog on Friday, as the simulations have them winning outright nearly half the time and providing massive value against the plus-money payback. The White Sox are just 8-10 in their last 18 outings as a road favorite. Although Rangers starter Glenn Otto has struggled of late, the Rangers are 2-1 behind him in his past three outings.
