Maybe I am a total sucker as I've lost on the Yankees as solid favorites in back-to-back games, but I think Tuesday is almost desperation time -- even with Monday's loss, the Yanks are 14-6 vs. the Angels at home since 2014. Yankees batters have hit 33 homers since June 8, the second-most in the majors over that span. New York's Jameson Taillon (2-4, 5.18) has a 3.04 ERA at home and has allowed three earned runs or fewer in all nine at Yankee Stadium and two earned or fewer in six of those nine. For what it's worth, the Yanks are are 14-5 in their last 19 during Game 2 of a series.
Jameson Taillon has been bad this season, although in nine starts at home he has been pretty good with a 3.04 ERA. However, in his three starts at home in June he allowed six earned runs in 16.1 IP. Andrew Heaney has been very good recently going 2-2 with a 3.75 ERA in June. He allowed five runs in 6 IP in his last start but he didn’t walk a better and struckout 10. The Yankees have just the 18th best wOBA in the league against lefties despite their righty heavy lineup. The Yankees have lost four straight games while the Angels have put together a couple wins of themselves. Take the value in the Angels.
