I have a feeling that the Cubs will be without Anthony Rizzo for at least this game as he left Sunday night's loss to the Dodgers with lower back trouble and then obviously had to get on a long flight late Sunday night -- anyone with back issues knows that flying is about the worst thing for the condition. Chicago has scored just five total runs in its past three games (all losses) and faces NL Cy Young contender Freddy Peralta (7-2, 2.11) here. Opponents are batting just .134 off him and he has a 1.55 home ERA. Peralta's 2021 ERA vs. Chicago is 1.80 in three starts. Also like the Under 7.5 runs with the Cubbies starting Kyle Hendricks.
The betting baseball rule book says it’s not a good idea to bet on a team that has lost three straight when playing against a team that has won three or more straight. The Cubs have lost three in a row, while the Brewers have won five consecutive to take over first place in the NL Central. Milwaukee's Freddy Peralta (7-2, 2.11 ERA) has been amazing this season, but my reason for betting the Cubs against baseball betting rules, besides juicy plus-money, is Kyle Hendricks (10-4, 3.84), whom the Cubs have won eight straight behind. He hasn’t allowed a run in his last two starts.
Freddy Peralta has been very good this season going 7-2 with a 2.11 ERA. Kyle Hendricks struggled to start the season but he has been much better as of late pitching eight straight quality starts. The Brewers have won five straight games and seven of their last 10 while the Cubs have lost three straight games and they are 16-23 on the road. Take the Brewers at home.
