Early Week 9 Fantasy Football waiver wire: How much to bid on Tyrone Tracy Jr., plus 30 more pickups to consider

Here's how you should set bids on the top quarterbacks, running backs, receivers and tight ends worth picking up

There have been few injuries in 2025 that have resulted in a must-chase Fantasy asset emerging on the waiver wire. The James Conner injury qualifies as it briefly turned Trey Benson into an RB1 before he also went on IR, though he is expected to return soon. The Omarion Hampton injury didn't provide one clear back worth focusing our bids on, though Kimani Vidal proved to be a wise addition for those who took the risk. The injuries to Austin Ekeler and Aaron Jones boosted sleepers already on rosters in a vast majority of leagues.

The Cam Skattebo injury is most similar to the Cardinals situation a few weeks ago, as it should pave the way for a clear winner available in a decent number of leagues in Tyrone Tracy Jr. I've been saving a high waiver priority in a league where it doesn't reset for an instance like this (I already had Benson rostered in that league when the Conner injury happened), and I happen to have a roster spot to burn after pulling off a 2-for-1 trade last week. So I'm putting in a waiver claim for the first time all year in that league on Tracy Jr. and hoping he can get by the team with the top spot in the claim order.

He may not turn out to be a league winner but now that two months of the season are in the books, I don't think it makes a lot of sense to save key waiver resources hoping for a better situation that may never come. There are only a handful of cases around the league where a back going down would pave the way for one clear winner who isn't already rostered widely in Fantasy, so I'll take my shot on Tracy Jr. But how much am I willing to bid in FAB formats? I'll go over that below in my full look at the best waiver options for Week 9 as we cover more than 30 players at quarterback, running back, receiver and tight end to cover in this week's early waiver wire column.
