Baylor vs. Nicholls line, picks: Advanced computer college basketball model releases selections for Monday afternoon matchup

SportsLine's projection model generated selections for Monday's matchup between the Baylor Bears and the Nicholls Colonels

By@SportsLinePublished: Nov 15, 2021 1:25PM UTC . 3 min read

The No. 8 Baylor Bears host the Nicholls Colonels in a non-conference tilt at noon ET on Monday. Baylor is favored by 23.5 points at Caesars Sportsbook, while the Over-Under is set at 145.5 (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our college basketball odds page).

Before making any Baylor vs. Nicholls picks, you NEED to check out the college basketball predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every Division I college basketball game 10,000 times. Over the past five years, the proprietary computer model has generated an impressive profit of $2,200 for $100 players on its top-rated college basketball picks against the spread. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns.

The model knows Baylor is loaded again after a title-winning team last season. The Bears return two of the top five scorers from last season's team, and James Akinjo arrives via transfer after averaging 15.6 points and 5.4 assists per game at Arizona in 2020-21. Baylor was No. 2 in the country in offensive efficiency last season, leading the nation in three-point shooting and posting a top-five national rate in offensive rebounding. The Bears also ranked in the top 25 in defensive efficiency last season, putting pressure on the opposition with a whopping 24.4 percent turnover creation rate.

The model also knows Nicholls is off to a strong start, winning three straight games and scoring more than 100 points in back-to-back contests. Senior guard Ty Gordon led the team in scoring last season, and he returns to key the offense. Gordon is averaging more than 18 points per game so far this year, and Nicholls is shooting 60.6 percent on two-point shots this season. Nicholls led the Southland Conference in turnover avoidance last season, giving the ball away on fewer than 18 percent of possessions, and that trait is key against Baylor's athleticism and pressure.

Now, it has set its sights on Baylor vs. Nicholls. We can tell you the model is leaning over the total, and it also says one side of the spread has all the value! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any college basketball picks.
