We have to wonder what Tony Bloom (who doesn't usually suffer fools...or losing managers) might be thinking about his young 32-year old gaffer Fabian Hürzeler, who seems to have lost the plot at Brighton as the Seagulls slip worryingly down the EPL table, and maybe two more bad results from being dragged into the relegation whirlpool. Symptomatic of the downturn (winless in six and 12 of 13 in the Prem) is vet stiker Danny Welbeck, who had eight goals before New Year's...and none since. This also looks a bad time to run into a rejuvenated Brentford as set-piece guru Keith Andrews has the Bees buzzing within European range, while Igo Thiago (17 goals) continues to provide a very sharp edge. Obviously a high number for Saturday, but I'm somewhat experimenting with Draw No Bet now that we have it. Brentford, unbeaten in four in all competitions (three wins), sits seventh in the EPL table and BHA 14th. No team in the Premier League has won fewer league matches than the Seagulls since December as their lone victory came against likely relegated Burnley. BHA has lost three in a row in all competitions and been clean sheeted in each. We pay the freight to loop that DNB in. Certainly don't expect to Bees to lose at home, but it's footy.
Brighton's poor run of form has continued into matchday 27 as they have now lost three of their last five and won none of those matches. Their defense has been poor and their offense has left plenty to be desired. They are also struggling on the road. Meanwhile, Brentford have been fantastic all season long and are fighting for a top five spot. I expect Brentford to win, and most likely, Thiago or Lewis-Potter to find a goal.
