You could make a decent case for Leeds being the better team since the beginning of December, as the All-Whites have lost just 1 of 11 since, a better mark than EPL-topping Arsenal. Daniel Farke got his side playing on the front foot, which among other things unleashed striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin (now on nine goals) and has pulled Leeds clear of the drop zone. Meanwhile, Arsenal has looked a bit nervous lately and a long way from the side that beat Leeds 5-0 in August, while several big guns have gone quiet (note Bukayo Saka hasn't scored since December 3). Elland Road will be rocking as usual! Play Leeds on Spread
Here's something I didn't expect to say waking up today or ever really: I agree with Buckets. Still don't know why that nickname since not a hoops guy? Will have to ask. That's like calling me, I don't know, Curling. I actually have played that a couple of times. Must be drinking to enjoy like darts, cards, billiards and axe throwing -- yep, that's a thing. Jon used this really long explanation as to why he's on Leeds United when one word would suffice regarding Arsenal: TRAP. Sure feels like one off the Champions League and ahead of a Carabao Cup second-leg semifinal vs. Chelsea. Would seem easy to overlook this Premier League match Saturday at a bad team. A one-goal win works just fine.
Arsenal are going to be exhausted coming into this match. They just had to play a UCL fixture against Kairat in which they barely won, now they have to travel to Leeds, and just a few days later have to take on Chelsea in the EFL Cup. The schedule congestion is starting to weight on Arsenal, meanwhile Leeds will be rested and ready for the league leaders. Leeds have already taken points off Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea at home, and 1.5 goals is too large of a spread for a Leeds team I think might draw this.
Arsenal just beat Kairat Almaty to finish off a perfect Group Stage in Champions League. While they did in fact have a perfect 8-0 record, and are top in Premier League, they are struggling defensively right now, and teams are taking notice. This team that was praised for their defensive wall and their ability to cleansheet teams, just isn't the same right now. They conceded two to Kairat, three to Manchester United, two to Chelsea and two to Bournemouth already this month. Leeds at home are a dangerous team, and will look to press Arsenal.
