Sometimes a catastrophic loss becomes a rallying cry for a team. No loss could be as severe as what happened to the Miami Hurricanes last week against Georgia Tech. Expect the coaches and players to sense the moment this week on the road against North Carolina. Additionally, with last year’s poor Hurricanes team they held tough to just a three point loss against the Tar Heels. Take Miami.
Much is being made about Miami's Kneegate from last week, but people are overlooking the fact that the Hurricanes played poorly against a mediocre Georgia Tech squad. Now they go on the road to face Drake Maye and a North Carolina offense that is rolling. Give me Carolina.
Normally I'd play the ML to avoid a push ... except I'm a Canes fan and don't want them to lose (wouldn't take -3.5). Just happen to think they likely will off that impossible clusterf*** defeat to Georgia Tech. That HAS to linger. If UM's head coach was named Matt Severance with what happened, he would already be fired. But I didn't get the job so ... the Heels look awesome and their star QB, Drake Maye, is way more trustworthy than the Canes' Tyler Van Dyke, who threw three picks last week. Figure if UM does win, I win personally and take a lesser $ loss than ML play. Miami's only road game so far was at Temple. Slightly different atmosphere Saturday.
