Only at 7 will I play a bit on this as frankly it looks like a pick'em on paper, but I don't have a strong opinion on it -- the SL Model and Sagarin have EMU winning. A couple others have JSU close. Our own Bruce Marshall is on EMU +6.5.

Not much more to say here other than to remind of the startling Eagles tech trend in which the underdog side has covered a staggering 13 games in a row (!) in games involving EMU. (The Eagles opened a 6-point dog here vs. the Gamecocks this week.) Confidence growing in QB Austin Smith after leading late game-winning TD drive to beat improved UMass, and balance provided by RB Samson Evans, who's gaining better than 6 ypc. Rich Rod's C-USA newcomers from JSU having trouble moving the ball against FBS opposition (barely 16 ppg vs. UTEP & Coastal Carolina), while QBs Zion Webb & Logan (not Tom or Dick) Smothers have combined for all of 1 TD pass in the first three games.

Both Eastern Michigan and Jacksonville have gone under in all three of their games. I really like Eastern Michigan HC Chris Creighton however his team is below average on the o-line, quarterback position and skill players. The Eagles did come close to the total the past two weeks scoring just six points at Minnesota and 19 at home versus Massachusetts. Jacksonville State’s defense is equal to UMass. The Gamecocks struggled at home versus UTEP with just 17 points and just 16 at Coastal Carolina. JSU HC Rich Rod loves to run the football. My model has this total at 43.5. With both teams 0-3 under expect this number to go lower.
