The Illini defense, which was supposed to be a strength, has allowed 62 points through two games. This wouldn't seem to bode well against the high-powered Nittany Lions. But the Illinois offense, led by dual-threat QB Luke Altmyer, has enough firepower to hold serve with Penn State and the defense should give an improved effort. There's value with this juicy number in a game that could go down to the wire.

Illinois had a great defensed last year, but that's not the case so far this year. Penn State is a legit national title contender that can light you up. Lay the points.

Penn State has my 6th best defense, a young quarterback making his first road start and a heavy dose of a power running game. The Nittany Lions have run the ball 60% of the time after two games. Illinois HC Bret Bielema is also a power running game believer with two tight end sets. This game should move along quickly with a very low number of plays. After two games both teams pace has been average. Total plays per game Penn State 132 and Illinois 140.

Penn State has arguably the most balanced team in the country. They are capable of beating you in any type of way. Defensively is where they'll have the advantage vs an inconsistent Illini offensive attack. And with the way the Nittany Lions can run the ball, expect them to be able to salt the game away.
